Theocracy on the March in Indiana
New “In God we trust” license plates became available in Indiana on January 1st and 400,000 anti-constitutionalist Hoosiers have made the plate a runaway hit, running away with over $1.2 million in Indiana highway funds in the process. The plates, which under Indiana law must be made available to motorists at no additional charge, cost an extra $3.69 each to produce and distribute1, with the difference being made up with highway funds.
Setting aside the sickening sentiment of the plates, which openly opposes our freedom of religion as guaranteed by the first amendment, reasonable citizens, and especially conservatives, must be stunned by the fact that these anti-democratic statements are being subsidized in a bizarre welfare program.
The separation of church and state was not included in the Bill of Rights for the exclusive benefit of atheists and anarchists—it protects religion from being corrupted by a power-grabbing government, as it defends the freedom of conscience for every citizen. As a Christian and an American, I refuse to forfeit my freedom to worship as I choose. My conscience and spirituality are not, and will never be, subject to majority rule.
Fight the theocratic wave at every turn before your most personal beliefs become the subject of the next legislative session.

Bill Maher: The World IS Mel Gibson
Bill Maher asks:...liquor releases demons, but I want to know why the demon in Mel Gibson is hatred of the Jews to begin with…
I have been curious about Mel and about the broader world, in general. What is so appealing about anti-semitism? Many americans and most europeans appear to be ready to buy into the horror stories propagated by the middle-eastern muslim media lock, stock and barrel, turning off their BS filters.
In the current battle between Israel and Hezbollah, the Israelis have occupied the moral high ground. When they kill civilians it is because they shot at terrorists and missed. When Hezbollah kills Israeli civilians it is because they shot at civilians and hit the target.
There is a massive gulf between those two moral positions. Intent does matter. I don’t understand people who can write this conflict off as Israeli militarism against the innocent people of Lebanon. The only reason I can come up with is that they must be anti-semites. Or they could just be morons.
