Apocalypse Tomorrow

Apocalyptic weather forecasts always make me a little giddy.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING OF 8 TO 12 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH HEAVIEST AMOUNTS ALONG AND SOUTH OF ROUTE 30. IN ADDITIONGUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL CAUSE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOWESPECIALLY TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHTWITH WHITEOUTS CONDITIONS AND SOME IMPASSABLE ROADS POSSIBLETRAVEL IS EXPECTED TO BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS ACROSS THE WATCH AREA. STAY TUNED FOR LATER UPDATES AS THIS POTENTIALLY CRIPPLING SNOW STORM DRAWS NEAR.

They certainly shouldn’t, for a foot1 of snow tomorrow would be, at best, an inconvenience. And clearly we have nothing on those people in New York state who got 11 feet of snow. All I’ll probably have to do is take a quick run around the driveway with my as-yet-unused-this-winter snowblower. I have no ill will towards my neighbors or fellow commuters. Maybe it is the dearth of real excitement coming to the surface, but I will get a little tingle when the flakes begin to fly.

1 For reference, I live about 2 miles south of route 30…
