What a Relief.

I had really not been enjoying the might mouse that came with my iMac. Until tonight. First, it has been causing audible interference with my audio output. I don’t know if my mm is outside the norm or if I just get irritated by high-pitched sounds that other people ignore, but it was enough to unplug me from the Mac and move back to my iPod while working at home. Thankfully, moving the mm to an external USB hub silenced the dreaded interference.

Then, as I sat down to write this post, I went to the Apple site for an appropriate link. While I was there I noticed that the mm could be programmed to emulate a 3-button mouse. My command key had been getting a workout, as I am a frequent right-clicker, under normal circumstances. You can also attach a command to a squeeze of the mouse—I assigned that, initially to switching between applications.
